New GitLab metrics and registry features help reduce CI/CD bottlenecks

GitLab introduces two beta features to reduce CI/CD bottlenecks: CI/CD Job Performance Metrics and Container Virtual Registry.

• •CI/CD Job Performance Metrics adds a job-focused panel to the CI/CD analytics page, showing P50/P95 durations and failure rates per job over the last 30 days
• •The metrics table is sortable by duration or failure rate and searchable by job name, eliminating the need for custom dashboards or manual log digging
• •Available on GitLab Premium and Ultimate; self-managed requires ClickHouse configuration
• •Container Virtual Registry creates a single GitLab endpoint that proxies multiple upstream registries (Docker Hub, Harbor, Quay) with pull-through caching
• •IAM-based registries (ECR, GAR, ACR) are planned for future iterations; UI management is still in progress
